I've been working at capturing the likeness of an actor (Michael Fassbender) and rendering the face with greater realism for the past five weeks. I've had a good amount of success with improving the rendering and my sculpting skills, however I haven't been able to capture the likeness to a degree I am happy with. It's so difficult! I resculpted the eyes at least twenty times and I compared reference photos to the forms in the sculpt and even though almost every thing matches up, it does not resemble Fassbender. I am fairly happy with the convincing quality of the latest renders though. I will likely keep adding renders to this post in the coming weeks. There were maybe three times as many test renders as you see here, I didn't post them all. I worked for at least 2 hours a day and at most up to 8 during the last five weeks.
